New Covid-19 cases dip to 1,000

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,672 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

The number of active Covid-19 cases went down to 26,168. In recent days, the tally of active cases was more than 30,000.

Metro Manila still recorded the most number of new cases in the past 14 days at 11,369. It was followed by Calabarzon with 5,699, Central Luzon with 3,651, Western Visayas with 1,950, and Cagayan Valley with 1,550.

The fresh cases pushed the overall tally of confirmed infections to 3,878,734.

The country’s total number of recoveries was at 3,790,793. On the other hand, the death toll reached 61,773.
