Application for GSIS education subsidy program closes on Aug. 31
The application for the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Educational Subsidy Program (GESP) will close on Wednesday, Aug. 31, the agency reminded.

GESP is a financial assistance aid for the dependent of an active GSIS member.
The dependent must be enrolled in any Commission on Higher Education registered private or state college or university.
GSIS said that the GESP recipient will be entitled to a subsidy worth P1,000 but not exceeding P10,000 per academic year.
The GESP grant is non-transferable, GSIS added.
According to the agency, each member can nominate one dependent student who shall meet the following qualifications: must be a child or dependent of the active GSIS member, must be a college student in any year level, has a general weighted average of at least 80 percent with no failing grade, and not a recipient of other education or financial aid program including the GSIS Scholarship Program.
GSIS members who wish to nominate their child or dependent must be under a permanent employment status, at the salary grade of 24 or below, and have no underpaid or unpaid loan amortization for more than three months.
The GESP form and a step-by-step procedure on how to apply for the program are posted on the agency's official website.
