Laudiangco remains as acting Comelec spox

John Rex Laudiangco will remain as the acting spokesperson of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Comelec Chairman George Garcia issued a memorandun on Wednesday, August 3 renewing the designation of Laudiangco.

"You are to retain your designation as Acting Spokesperson of this Commission effective immediately. In the exercise of your duties, you shall report directly to the undersigned," he said.

It was May 2022 when Laudiangco was first designated as acting spokesperson by then Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan.

His designation lapsed when the appointment of Pangarungan was bypassed by the Commission on Appointments last June leaving the position of Comelec spokesperson as temporarily vacant.

Later, Acting Comelec Chairperson Socorro Inting also designated Laudiangco to the same post.
