Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia has officially assumed his post Wednesday, August 3.

He assumed his post a day after he took his oath.
On Wednesday, Garcia already presided his first en banc session as chairman which was virtually attended by Commissioners Socorro Inting, Aimee Ferolino, Marlon Casquejo and Rey Bulay.
He also faced the media in a press briefing where he laid out his plans for the poll body.
During the press briefing, Garcia also expressed readiness to face the Commission on Appointments (CA) anew.
"I am prepared. My life is an open book. But I hope the center of everything will be focused on policy direction," said Garcia.
"Whatever questions or oppositions, we expect that. And I am ready for that," he added.
Then poll commissioner Garcia was bypassed by the CA last June.
Malacañang announced the appointment of Garcia as Comelec Chairman Monday.
