Road Advisory: 2 main roads in Mt. Province still impassable
At least two vital roads in Mountain Province were closed to traffic due to road cuts and soil collapse, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported on Monday, Aug. 29.

The DPWH Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Office has recorded slope collapse within the vicinity of Mt. Province-Cagayan via Tabuk Enrile Road in Poblacion, Sagada, Mt. Province due to inclement weather.
Clearing operations were ongoing to clear the road from scattered rocks and mud, as of press time, according to the DPWH Bureau of Maintenance.
Travelers crossing Sagada were advised to take alternative routes in Jct. Talubin - Barlig - Natonin - Paracelis - Calaccad Road then take the Mt. Province -Nueva Vizcaya Road; or traverse the Tabuk - Nueva Vizcaya - Ifugao - Mt. Province Road.
On its 8 a.m. road advisory, the DPWH-CAR said the landslide-prone highway of Kennon Road in Baguio City was also still locked to any kind of vehicles due to high-threat of soil collapse.
“Kennon road remains closed to traffic due to safety reasons until further notice from the JIATF Kennon,” the advisory read.
Most of the vital roads in Mt. Province have been recently punched-through open, or are one-way passable, especially in areas with clearing operations in effect.
Travelers were advised to avoid unnecessary travel if possible, or observe extreme precautions if travel is a must.
“Some road sections are also experiencing close-open situations wherein falling rocks/debris and slope collapse may occur due to inclement weather,” the DPWH warned.
