LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Fashion designers and artists joined in a rare collaboration for Arts and Fashion Culture and Couture exhibit that started on Monday (Aug. 29) and will run until Sept. 3, 2022 at SM Event Center in this city.

Ramil Estrope, a Lucena-born designer and president of Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines (FDAP), told Manila Bulletin that the event is the first time to happen in Quezon that their handcrafted gowns are being expressed into paintings.

The DAP-Quezon exhibited at least nine of their works, including those created by Estrope.

The other Quezonian designers in the event are JoJo Alidio, Eys Vergara, North Ortiz, Benedick Eroa, Maricris dela Peña, Karll Rodriguez, Randy Satin and Dexter Diamante,

The 12 group of painters called the Art Revolution are also from Quezon which painted the FDAP members’ designs based on the available materials of the latter, Estrope said.

The collaboration is a very good gesture of the artists to show to the public of their skills and talents on expressing emotions thru paintings.

One of the painters, Marlene ‘Gayer’ Galit, founder of Art Revolution, is a contemporary artist from Lucena City who specializes in pointillism, figurative and mandala art.

Her medium is acrylic paint which allows her to express her emotions and ideas more easily.

Beverly Manalo-Bonavenie, a mother to three children, is a flora and fauna nature scenery artist who has no formal training in the arts or painting. She uses painting as a form of recreation and relaxation.
