CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City – The Police Regional Office (PRO)-2 joined the country in commemorating National Heroes' Day Monday, Aug. 29, with the theme "Kabayanihan Tungo sa Pagkakaisa at Pag-unlad (Heroism Towards Unity and Progress)."
PRO-2 recognized the selfless service of modern-day heroes who include the frontliners who risked their lives during the global health crisis.
A message from Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. read by Police Brig. Gen. Steve B. Ludan, PRO-2 director, during the program here emphasized “MKK=K” peace and security framework.
MKK=K stands for "Malasakit, Kaayusan, at Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran (Concern, Order, and Peace toward Progress)."
Azurin urged every man in uniform to go hand-in-hand in pursuit of lasting peace and harmony in the community.
A wreath-laying ceremony spearheaded by Ludan to pay respect to all PNP heroes who laid down their lives in the line of duty was held at the PRO2 Heroes Memorial Headstone.
A gun salute and sounding of taps were observed in honor of the valor and tenacity of the country's heroes per PNP tradition.
