More than P200,000 worth of 'shabu' seized from 7 suspects in QC buy-busts
Operatives from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confiscated a total of P204,000 worth of alleged shabu and arrested seven drug suspects in two separate buy-bust operations in Quezon City on Saturday, Aug. 27.
Lt. Col. Richard Ian Ang, QCPD Galas Police Station commander, said that two suspects, identified as Mark Leyner Clocar, 32, a resident of Barangay San Francisco, General Trias, Cavite City; and Fatima Somagomba, 32, a resident of Barangay 648, Quiapo, Manila were collared at the corner of Quezon Avenue and R. Familara Street, Brgy. Tatalon, in the city at around 11:30 p.m.
The suspects yielded more or less 15 grams of "shabu" valued at P102,000, a cellular phone, a coin purse, and the buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, another buy-bust operation in Ramos Compound, Philand Extension, Brgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City resulted in the arrest of five drug suspects.
Police identified the suspects as Glessie Romitnan, 40; Richard Marcos, 40, both residents of Brgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City; William Adriano, 24; Laurence De Guzman, 25, and Reymar Bulacan, 24, all residents of Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City.
Confiscated from the suspects were also around 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000, and the buy-bust money.
The suspects will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165 or "The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002," police said. (Diann Ivy Calucin)
