The Pasig City police seized P5.44 million worth of illegal drugs from three high-value individuals (HVIs) in a buy-bust operation on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 27.

The report submitted to Col. Celerino Sacro Jr., the new chief of police of the Pasig City Police Station (CPS), identified the high-value suspects as Mohaimen Rangaig, 26; Matet Makebel, 33; and Isabel Tobosa, 26.
Rangaig ranked fifth in the regional HVI priority database on illegal drugs, according to the police.
Operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested the suspects at 683 R. Castillo Street, Barangay Kalawaan, Pasig City at around 5 p.m.

The police confiscated around 800 grams of suspected shabu, placed in 19 separate transparent plastic sachets, 13 of which were heat-sealed and six tied with knots. The suspect shabu has a standard price of P5,440,000.
Other confiscated items included a digital weighing scale, two pieces of genuine P1,000 bills, and 33 pieces of P1,000 boodle money.
The suspects are in the custody of the Pasig CPS, while the evidence was turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP)'s Forensic Unit in Camp Crame, Quezon for drug test and laboratory examination.
The suspects are facing charges in violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002."
"With the help of the community, the Pasig PNP will continuously adhere towards a drug and crime free Pasig City," said Col. Sacro in a statement regarding intensified anti-illegal drugs efforts.
