PH College of Criminology partners with PDEA to strengthen, improve quality of criminology education

In line with its efforts to strengthen and improve the quality of its Criminology Education, the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) partnered with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

PCCR President Ma. Angelica Lei Bautista presents the Scroll of Honor to PDEA USec. Dir. Gen. Dr. Wilkins Villanueva. 

PCCR and PDEA signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) which aims to provide both institutions with mutual development and growth opportunities for their respective organizations.

The partnership focuses on areas of Internship, student career placement, and experience, curriculum development, research, faculty exchange and development, and scholarships and discounts --- among others.

PCCR President Ma. Angelica Lei Bautista led the school’s contingent along with Executive Vice President Karim Bangcola, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Noel Sergio, College of Criminal Justice Dean Dr. Jezreel Vicente, Alumni Affairs Head Joaquin De Castro, Student Experience Head Eduard Solomon, and Business Development Head Joms Melad.

PDEA was represented by Undersecretary and Director General Dr. Wilkins Villianueva (PCCR Ph.D. Crim. 2022) together with Assistant Secretary Director Diosdado Carreon, Chief of Staff Director Charlene Magdurulan, Legal and Prosecution Service Director Atty. Czareanah Aquino, Human Resource Management Service Director Vince Plaza, Preventive Education, and Community Involvement Service Director Edgar Apalla, Plans and Operations Service Director Wardley Getalla, PDEA Academy Superintendent Lirio Oximar, and Director Derrick Arnold Carreon.

The partnership aims to strengthen and improve the quality of Criminology Education in PCCR with on-the-job training and internship and agency visits to enhance student knowledge about the agency and its function in law enforcement.

Seminars and training will also be conducted where students get to learn firsthand the proper administration and policies against illegal drugs.

Likewise, PDEA personnel will also be invited as guest lecturers in PCCR to further “enhance student experience and learning” together with Research Collaboration and Undertaking that will benefit both institutions.

Moreover, PDEA employees and their respective dependents will also be provided with education discounts and scholarships as part of this agreement.

Villanueva was among those who were given a full scholarship for 10 nominees under his name to complete their Bachelor’s Degree in PCCR.

The MOA between PCCR and PDEA is the first in a long line of partnership agreements with Law Enforcement Agencies to open the new academic year.
