DOT urges collaboration with business sector to boost tourism industry
Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco has encouraged the business sector to collaborate with them in promoting business tourism in the country.

Frasco made the pitch during the Employers Confederation of the Philippines' (ECOP) 43rd National Conference held at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City last Wednesday, August 24.
Frasco, being candid on her goal to attract the help of the business sector, said the department recognizes employers across the country as their "indispensable partners in ensuring the full recovery of our country.”
She then addressed the present condition of tourism industry in the country after the global havoc made by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I discussed DOT programs in the pipeline to address post-pandemic challenges related to human capital development, safety and security of tourists, and tourism convenience, tourism employment and job creation, among others,” Frasco said.
Frasco also shared her endeavor for the tourism industry to become resilient in battling the outcome of the ongoing health crisis, noting that the Marcos administration has put extra effort in prioritizing not only public health but also the recovery of the economy.
“I am confident that we can strike a balance between coping, surviving, thriving in the pandemic, and recovering economically. As we open our doors once more to the rest of the world, this is the perfect time to invest in the Philippines since opportunities are ripe for the taking,” Frasco continued.
Frasco also underscored that the DOT will implement proper mechanisms to support the interests of the employers and tourism workers.
