Rider flagged down in checkpoint for not wearing facemask yields shabu

SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan -- A rider who was flagged down in a checkpoint for not wearing a facemask ignored the police and fled, prompting the police to chase him along Brgy. Mamarlao in this city around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25.

As it turned out, the rider, identified as Mark Anthony Macaraeg, 28, of Brgy. Rizal was hiding something.

When accosted by the San Carlos City Police personnel, body search was conducted on the rider who yielded one heat sealed plastic sachet containing shabu worth P1,360.

The San Carlos City police also discovered the rider had no driver's license.

The rider was able to run to about one kilometer before the pursuing cops caught him.

The suspect and the confiscated items were brought to San Carlos City Police for proper disposition.
