Police nab two assailants who stabbed tricycle driver in Pangasinan
ROSALES, Pangasinan -- Two helpers who stabbed the driver of the tricycle they hired were arrested during a hot pursuit operation of the Philippine National Police in Brgy Pias, Villasis on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Based on the report from the office of Col. Jeff Fanged, officer-in-charge of Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, the suspects were identified as Joevert Ramos, 24, and Mark John Gil Padilla, 23, both helpers and residents of Purok 5, Brgy. Guiling, Rosales.
The victim was identified as Willie Esteban, 52, a resident of Brgy. Mangandingay, San Manuel, Tarlac.
The two suspects hired the victim to bring them from San Manuel, Tarlac to Brgy. Guiling, Rosales.
When they reached the road of Brgy Guiling, Rosales around 2:00 a.m., the suspects suddenly stabbed the victim and forcibly took his tricycle and fled to an unknown direction.
Concerned citizens helped the victim who was rushed to Del Carmen Hospital in Brgy. Carmen West, Rosales, Pangasinan.
The incident was reported to the police who then immediately conducted a hot pursuit which resulted in the immediate arrest of the two suspects.
Police recovered the tricycle the suspects took in Brgy Pias, Villasis, Pangasinan.
