Generally sunny, fair weather condition seen over most of PH after 'Florita'
A generally fair weather condition will prevail over most of the Philippines in the next 24 hours, said the state weather bureau a day after it lifted all tropical cyclone wind signals in the country due to severe tropical storm Florita (international name: Ma-on).

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Benison Estareja, on Thursday, Aug. 25, said that the southwest monsoon has weakened and it is now only affecting the western sections of northern and central Luzon. ‘Florita’ on the other hand, continues to move away from the Philippine landmass and it was last located 905 kilometers (km) west of extreme northern Luzon outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
With these conditions, Estareja said that apart from isolated rain showers, a generally fair weather condition will prevail over most of the country.
“Malaking bahagi ng ating bansa ay magiging generally maaraw na lalo na ‘yung ating mga kababayan na inulan nitong nagdaang araw sa Luzon. Meron na lamang tayong mga pulu-pulong pag-ulan (Most parts of the country will experience a generally sunny weather condition, especially those residents of Luzon who have been rained on in the past few days. We are only expecting isolated rain showers),” said Estareja in a public weather forecast.
Estareja, however, warned that they are monitoring a cloud cluster in the eastern section of Visayas. It may bring rain showers in Bicol and eastern Visayas in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country were warned against possible flash floods or landslides that severe thunderstorms may bring.
Although no tropical cyclone is expected to develop until the weekend, the weather specialist underscored that they are not ruling out the possibility of another tropical cyclone formation by the end of the month.
