A song about fearless love

Ben&Ben works with Pamungkas to breathe new life to hit single ‘Paninindigan Kita’

Ben&Ben teams up with Indonesian singer-songwriter Pamungkas to release a performance video of single “Stand By You,” the English rendition of the chart-topping Filipino band’s hit “Paninindigan Kita.”

Ben&Ben explains that the song is “an ode to a lover that might be hesitant to take a step forward in the relationship.”

The pop-rock original was the result of a month-long collaboration between the local band and Pamungkas, who were introduced to each other online. “We sent over a rough translation of our song Paninindigan Kita,” shares the nine-piece band in a statement. “He came up with brilliant lyrical ideas, and we ended up co-writing the English lyrics for this song with him.” Ben&Ben were more than happy about the outcome of the session, and how it brought the best of both worlds into one project.

There was a natural chemistry between both artists. This came out in the way the instruments were arranged and the different parts were worked into the final version of the performance.

The music video can be viewed on the Ben&Ben YouTube channel. It showcases the recording session Ben&Ben had with Pamungkas at the SoundCheck Studio in Pasig City in early August. It was recorded just in time for their sold-out show at the 123 Block in Mandaluyong City.
