Severe tropical storm Florita has left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR). It was last spotted 335 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan, or outside the PAR.

Severe tropical storm Florita (international name: Ma-on) has further weakened after crossing the Luzon landmass, PAGASA said.
It said Florita was already over the West Philippine Sea, or about 80 kilometers northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, and now has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

PAGASA said severe tropical storm Florita has slightly weakened and was now packing maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 125 kph.
Florita was located in the vicinity of Kabugao, Apayao at around 4 p.m.
“Severe tropical storm Florita will continue moving generally northwestward or west-northwestward and is forecast to traverse the northern portions of Apayao and Ilocos Norte. Afterwards, Florita will emerge over the West Philippine Sea tonight (Aug. 23),” PAGASA said.

PAGASA said severe tropical storm Florita was already in Alcala, Cagayan at around 1 p.m.
It has maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.
“Severe tropical storm Florita will continue moving generally northwestward or west-northwestward and is forecast to traverse mainland Cagayan and Apayao. Afterwards, Florita will emerge over the Babuyan Channel tonight,” PAGASA said.

After its landfall, PAGASA said the storm will traverse northern Luzon and emerge over the West Philippine Sea this evening.

Severe tropical storm Florita (international name: Ma-on) will likely make landfall over northern Isabela—on the coast of Palanan, Maconacon, or Divilacan this morning, Aug. 23, or over Cagayan—on the coast of Gattaran, Baggao, or Peñablanca, before noon or early afternoon, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As of 7 a.m., Florita was already over the coastal waters of Palanan, Isabela, packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
After landfall, PAGASA said the storm will traverse northern Luzon and emerge over the West Philippine Sea this evening.

Tropical cyclone Florita (international name: Ma-on) further intensified into a severe tropical storm and is now headed toward Isabela-Cagayan, where landfall is expected within the next few hours.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Florita was now packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
The cyclone was estimated at 120 kilometers (km) east-northeast of Casiguran, Aurora at around 4 a.m.
“Severe tropical storm Florita will continue to gradually accelerate northwestward and is forecast to make landfall in the vicinity of the east coast of either Cagayan or northern Isabela this morning or early afternoon (Aug. 23). Afterwards, the storm will traverse northern Luzon and emerge over the West Philippine Sea tonight,” PAGASA said.

Tropical storm Florita (international name: Ma-on) further intensified as it slowly moved closer to northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Monday evening, Aug. 22.
PAGASA said Florita’s location was estimated at 125 kilometers (km) east of Casiguran, Aurora at around 10 p.m.
It was now packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

PAGASA said Florita was located 155 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora at around 4 p.m.
It was packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
“Tropical storm Florita will continue moving generally westward until tonight (Aug. 22) before turning west-northwestward tomorrow early morning (Aug. 23),” PAGASA said.
Should it maintain its current speed and track, Florita will likely make landfall “in the vicinity of the east coast of Isabela or east coast of Cagayan” early morning on Tuesday, Aug. 23, it said.

Tropical cyclone Florita has intensified into a tropical storm at around 8 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its 11 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, PAGASA said Florita was last spotted 215 kilometers (km) east of Casiguran, Aurora.
It was packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
5 a.m., Aug. 22
PAGASA located the center of the eye of tropical depression Florita 310 kilometers (km) east of Casiguran, Aurora at around 4 a.m.
It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph and was moving at 20 kph west-southwestward.
Florita is still expected to make landfall “in the vicinity of the east coast of Cagayan or northern Isabela” on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 23.

PAGASA said that tropical depression Florita has slightly accelerated while over the Philippine Sea.
Its center was estimated at 460 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan or at 420 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora at around 10 p.m.

Tropical depression Florita has slightly intensified while moving west-southwestward over the Philippine Sea, east of Cagayan.
It was located 540 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan at around 4 p.m.
PAGASA has hoisted tropical cyclone wind signal number 1 over the northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag), the eastern portion of Isabela (Dinapigue, Palanan, Divilacan, Maconacon, San Pablo, Cabagan, Tumauini, Ilagan City, San Mariano), and the eastern portion of Cagayan (Peñablanca, Baggao).

PAGASA said the low pressure area (LPA) located east of Aparri, Cagayan has developed into a tropical depression and was called “Florita.”
Florita is the country’s sixth tropical cyclone for 2022.
