Ralph Lauren gives a peek at how the wedding dress is made
Earlier this year, actress Jennifer Lopez starred in the rom-com flick “Marry Me” where she donned the most exquisite wedding dress for her character Katarina Valdez. This time, she walks the aisle as herself she professes her love for her husband, actor Ben Affleck.
During their wedding ceremony in Riceboro, Georgia last Aug. 20, the “Dance Again” singer wore a Ralph Lauren dress, the first of the three custom pieces from the American fashion house.
“In celebration of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s wedding, Ralph Lauren created the bride’s three custom gowns with love, care, and consideration woven into every detail of the silhouettes. Modern heirlooms for a timeless romance,” the brand posted.
The one she donned while walking down the aisle is inspired by the label’s archival pieces. The turtleneck column dress features more than 1,000 hand-cut handkerchiefs and 1,640 feet of fabric were cut into ruffles and attached by hand for added drama. Finishing the look is a delicate cathedral-length veil.
For the reception, Jennifer wore a spectacular chandelier-pearl gown with hand embroidery, micro-pleats of silk tulle, and Swarovski crystal. Her third look is also a showstopping piece complete with a plunging neckline and a sheer hood.
