The Senate suspended regular work on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 23 because of inclement weather brought by tropical
storm “Florita’’.
Senate regular session will resume on Aug. 30 but regular work shall resume on Thursday, Aug. 25, said lawyer Renato Bantug Jr., Senate secretary, based on the approval of Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.
A Malacañang memorandum circular suspended work in government offices effective 1 p.m. Thursday due to continuing inclement weather and flooding caused by the storm in Luzon.
The Senate, however, went ahead with its committee hearings. Its plenary session was held briefly.
Committee hearings may proceed subject to the discretion of the committee chairman, said Bantug.
