Caloocan gov't, DOH launch 'PinasLakas' Covid-19 booster vax drive


Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan led the launching of Department of Health’s (DOH’s) "PinasLakas" Covid-19 vaccination booster drive for students five to 11 years old, teachers, and non-teaching staff at the Camarin D Elementary School (CADES) on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

As part of the intensified vaccination drive in the city, 300 vaccine slots were allotted at the site on Tuesday, on top of the 5,000 daily vaccination target.

Department of Education (DepEd) Director IV Wilfredo Cabral and DOH Undersecretary Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho also attended the activity.

Ho asked the public to encourage more people to get booster shots against Covid-19.

She also said that it is not only the Covid vaccination that needs to be pushed but also the immunization drive against other diseases such as measles.

Malapitan urged everyone, especially teachers, frontline workers, and government employees, to keep their vaccination records updated.

The mayor also highlighted the city government’s partnership with s several organizations and businesses to expand its vaccination programs and serve more residents.

“Patuloy ang pagbabakuna natin sa Caloocan, gayundin ang ating pakikipag-ugnayan sa iba’t ibang ahensya at mga negosyante para sa booster shot ng kanilang mga empleyado (Vaccination program will continue in Caloocan, as well as our collaboration with various agencies and business owners for the booster shots of their employee)," the city mayor said.
