Taguig Mayor Cayetano urges students to follow health protocols amid Covid-19 threat
Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano welcomed students who reported on the first day of classes and first face-to-face mode of learning on Aug. 22 and reminded them to follow rules and public health protocols amid the threat of Covid-19.
Cayetano visited the Signal Village National High School together with Taguig-Pateros Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Margarito Materum, School Governance and Operations Division chief Danny Espelico and Councilor Marisse Balina-Eron, chairperson of the City Council’s Committee on Education.

“Lahat tayo ay mag-a-adjust (We will all adjust). My request to all the students: Please obey the school rules and regulations. And please also obey and follow the minimum health protocols. This is very important,” the mayor told students.
She added, “Gusto natin na makabalik kayo sa paaralan alinsunod sa pag-uutos sa atin ng Department of Education na uuntiin na natin ang face-to-face na pag-aaral. Muli na tayong babalik sa normal. (We want you to go back to school in accordance with the order to us of the Department of Education on gradual face-to-face classes. We will be going back to normal).”
“Pero ang banta ng Covid ay nandiyan pa rin, buhay pa din. In fact, nakikita natin ang muling pagtaas ng mga kaso ng Covid (But the threat of Covid is still there, it is alive. In fact, we see that Covid cases are increasing again),” she said.
According to Cayetano, “I want all of you to be responsible at all times. Proteksiyunan ang inyong sarili (protect yourselves and be mindful of your classmates...the safety of yourselves and your classmates Hindi pupwede na magpapabaya tayo sapagkat sa loob ng paaralan, kargo kayo ng ating mga guro at ang gusto natin sa lahat ng pagkakataon susundin ninyo ang mga ipinag-uutos ng ating mga educators (You cannot neglect because inside the school, you are the responsibility of teachers and we want you at all times to obey all orders of our educators).”
