PDEA dismantles drug den in Zambales; P90,000 shabu seized

SUBIC, Zambales – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Region 3 (Central Luzon) dismantled another makeshift drug den and arrested three persons in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Matangib, Barangay Cawag here before dawn Monday, Aug. 22.

PDEA identified the suspects as Arlene Bengero, 33, drug den maintainer; Cirilo Luato, 34; and Marife Mihani, 33, all of this town.

Seized in the operation at about 2:30 a.m. were six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 13 grams of suspected shabu worth P89,700, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the marked money used by the poseur-buyer.

The PDEA said the drug den which was usually open at night was subject to surveillance for one week.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.

The local police backed up PDEA in the operation.
