Man hit by stray bullet dies, one injured in shooting incident in Negros wake
BACOLOD CITY - A man died after he was hit by a stray bullet, while another was wounded in a shooting incident that happened in a wake in Barangay Japitan, Escalante City, Negros Occidental on Sunday.

Killed was Jamar Paulino, 33, of Barangay Japitan, while Benjie Sabino, 50, of Barangay Japitan was wounded.
Police Maj. Jake Barila, chief of Escalante police, said the two victims had a drinking session with the suspect identified as Eduardo Mahilum, 52, of Barangay Japitan.
However, while they were having a conversation, Sabino told Mahilum to keep the firearm he was showing to him as there were many people at the wake, Barila said.
Mahilum probably got irked. He went to Sabino and allegedly shot him for an unknown reason.
Sabino suffered a gunshot wound in his face, while Paulino, who was sitting beside him was hit by a stray bullet in the chest.
Both victims were rushed to a hospital, but Paulino was declared dead on arrival, while Sabino is now stable, according to Barila.
Mahilum was later arrested at their house in Barangay Japitan and will be facing charges for homicide and frustrated homicide, Barila said.
