Lee Jung-jae's 'Hunt' film sells 3 million tickets, tops Korean weekly box office anew
“Squid Game” star Lee Jung-jae’s directorial debut film “Hunt” continued its success at the box office in South Korea.
The espionage movie achieved another milestone when its total admissions reached three million on Aug. 21.


Data from the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), which tracks box office receipts, showed that “Hunt” sold 277,642 tickets on Aug. 21 to bring its total admissions to 3,042,160, achieving it in 12 days since its opening on Aug. 10.
“Hunt” topped the Korean weekly box office from Aug. 19 to 21, its second straight week to grab the No. 1 spot. During the three days, it sold 714,749 tickets and grossed $5.57 million.
As of Aug. 21, “Hunt” has sold 3.04 million tickets and grossed $23.65 million in South Korea. This placed “Hunt” at No. 5 on the list of top-grossing films in South Korea this year to date.
“Hunt” sold one million tickets on Aug. 13 and reached two million on Aug. 16.
“Hunt” stars Lee Jung-jae, Jung Woo-sung, Jeon Hye-jin, Heo Sung-tae and Go Yoon-jung.
