61 arrested in anti-illegal gambling drive in Central Luzon

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police arrested 61 persons in anti-illegal gambling operations conducted in Central Luzon over the weekend.

Several illegal gambling paraphernalia, including bet money, were seized.

Aurora police apprehended six persons while playing card games.

Four were nabbed in Angeles City over illegal card games and confiscated from their possession were one deck of playing cards and bet money amounting to P1,030.

In Bulacan, eight were arrested for illegal card games and “tupada” (illegal cockfighting). One deck of playing cards, two gaffs or “tari,” two fighting cocks, and bet money amounting to P1,540 were seized from them.

Pampanga police caught 27 persons while engaged in illegal cockfighting. They yielded 12 live fighting cocks, four dead fighting cocks, 19 gaffs, and bet money amounting to P33,730.

Eleven individuals were collared in Tarlac for illegal card games. Confiscated from them were three decks of playing cards with bet money amounting to P1,150.

Two “pusoy” (poker) players were arrested in Zambales and one set of playing cards with bet money amounting to P537 were seized.
