10 Parañaque schools start full F2F classes

The Parañaque city government announced that 10 out of 46 schools in the city are now implementing full face-to-face (F2F) classes with the opening of the new school year on Monday, Aug. 22.

The remaining 36 campuses in the city will be adopting blended learning, and in November this year, all the city's schools will be implementing full F2F classes.

Mayor Eric Olivarez announced that around 96,273 students in public schools from Kinder to Grade 12 have enrolled this year.

He said the Parañaque National High School, the biggest high school in Asia, had a total of 17,000 student enrollees.

The students will be attending F2F classes from Monday to Wednesday and online classes on Thursday and Friday.

A reminder was posted at the school gate on the wearing of face masks and observing physical distancing. A thermal scanner was placed strategically for students to check their temperature before going inside the classroom.

Olivarez said students in the city must receive vaccines against Covid-19 for their protection while attending F2F classes.

Based on the report of the City Health Office (CHO), only 56 percent of the students in high school or about 12,750, received vaccines against the disease and only 18 percent or 4,066 received their shots from grade school.
