GOT7's Yugyeom wraps up first solo show in Manila: 'Thank you Philippines'

K-pop boy band GOT7 member Yugyeom thanked Pinoy fans as he held his first solo show in the Philippines.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter held his “Yugyeom: Live in Manila” show on Aug. 19 at the New Frontier Theater.

“Thank you Philippines,” Yugyeom posted on Instagram with a Philippine flag.

He became the third member of GOT7 to perform in shows in Manila this year after BamBam and Jackson Wang.

Before Yugyeom went on stage, Korean DJ Wegun, also an artist under AOMG label, opened for him with a 30-minute set that warmed up the audience.

After him, Yugyeom started his show, opening with “I Want U Around (Feat. DeVita),” an R&B track that was part of his first mini-album “Point of View: U,” which he released in June last year.

He followed this with “Running Through The Rain,” “When You Fall,” “Falling in Love” and “All About You (Feat. Loco).”

The last time Yugyeom was in Manila was in October 2019 when GOT7 held their “Keep Spinning 2019 World Tour”.

During the show, Yugyeom recalled GOT7’s last show in the country.

“It’s such a beautiful night, isn’t it? I am so happy to be in Manila and (this is) my first solo concert in Asia,” he said.

He added, “Our last concert with the other members about three years (ago). I was very excited and nervous but now, I’m not anymore.”

Yugyeom signed up with AOMG in February last year and released his first album under the label, “Point of View: U.”

“And I focus more on the music itself,” he said.

During the show, Yugyeom also performed “Take You Down (Feat. Gray),” “Mommae,” “All I Wanna Do,” the unreleased “Always Ready,” “Love The Way (Feat. Jay Park & Punchnello),” and GOT7’s “Thank You, Sorry” and “1 + 1.”

As a fan service, Yugyeom went down to the audience while he was performing. Fans who went to the show waved their GOT7 lightsticks that radiated green light.

“Thank you Manila! You guys light him up!” AOMG posted on Instagram along with a photo of Yugyeom with the audience and dance crew.
