Onic Philippines head coach Mark “Bluffzy” Reyes lauded his rookies for a huge bounce back game after suffering their first loss at the hands of ECHO in their young MPL careers last Friday, Aug 19.

Playing on back-to-back games, Bluffzy commended his team’s resolve in its 2-1 victory over Nexplay Evos on Saturday, Aug. 20, noting that the MPL newcomers now dubbed as the “Season 10 super rookies” showed mental toughness even after a sorry Game 2 loss in the series.
“‘Yun po kasi yung mga bagay na wino-work out namin, ‘yung mental toughness nila so minsan yung mga situation di naman talaga papabor sa amin so parang laging if manalo reset wala na yun kalimutan, pag natalo, same lang ang sinasabi ko lang sa kanila na i-try lang lang lagi yung best natin,” said Bluffzy during his post-game presser, referring how his team bounced back in Game 3 after failing to close out the series in the second game.
Onic actually had the chance to finish off NXPE in Game 2 after securing the final Lord of the game only to waste it as Mariusz “Donut” Tan and Jeniel “Yellyhaze” Bata-anon scored a four-man wipe on Onic.
The Hedgehogs returned the favor in Game 3 as this time Kenneth “nets” Barro survived a four-man gank from NXPE to score a triple kill in the final clash to pick up their second win and secure two points in the standings.
Despite the splendid performance so far in the season, Bluffzy said the loss to ECHO just showed that there’s still a lot of room for improvement for his promising squad.
‘Yung talo namin sa ECHO, considered na super team sila, ang sinabi ko lang di naman pangit yung pinakita namin, nahirapan sila at the same time alam namin sa sarili namin na may mga bagay pa kami na kailangan pinuhin or ayusin. Kumbaga di pa ceiling sila, there’s always room for improvements,”
