CAMP OLIVAS, San Fernando City, Pampanga – Sixty-five erring policemen in Central Luzon have been dismissed from the service in two years.
The Police Regional Office (PRO)-3 Discipline Law and Order Section (DLOS), tasked to impose disciplinary action against misbehaving policemen, said that from Jan. 1, 2021 to date, 102 were suspended, seven demoted, one had his salary forfeited, 15 were reprimanded, and 842 were exonerated of their administrative cases.
Newly installed PRO-3 director Police Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen said that those meted with disciplinary actions were given all due process during the duration of the investigation before final decisions were released.
He supports internal cleansing among the rank-and-file to regain the public’s trust and confidence in line with the directives of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr.
"We will continue to weed out hoodlums and punish the undisciplined among our ranks through the strict application of the punitive sanctions for violations of PNP rules and regulations,” Pasiwen said.
“At the same time, intensified counter-intelligence efforts against illegal activities of PNP personnel are being undertaken,” Pasiwen added.
