EcoOil-La Salle cruised to an easy 92-49 drubbing of AMA Online to clinch the semifinals berth in the 2022 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Green Archers hardly missed the services of Gilas Pilipinas forward Kevin Quiambao as they raced to a 19-6 lead in the opening frame which set the tone for the rout to finish as the second seed at the end of the eliminations with a 5-2 win-loss slate.
Raven Cortez unloaded a double-double display of 21 points and 12 rebounds while Aaron Buensalida and Benjamin Phillips finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
La Salle went on to pounce the hapless AMA in the ensuing quarters to further pad the lead which went to as high as 44 points early in the final frame.
Cris Yambao was the lone bright spot for AMA with 18 points as no other player breached the double-digit mark in scoring. AMA ended the tournament winless through seven games, joining Letran as one of the two teams who failed to reach the playoffs.
La Salle, meanwhile, joined top seed San Sebastian in the semifinals while St. Clare and Marinerong Pilipino hold a twice-to-beat edge against University of Sto. Tomas and Centro Escolar University respectively in the quarterfinals.
