FVR's wake to start on Thursday; public viewing will be open on Sunday
The wake of former president Fidel V. Ramos will be open to the public starting on Sunday, Aug. 7, his family announced.

In a Facebook post, Ramos family and the Ramos Peace and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPDEV) said the public viewing will start on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. until Monday, Aug. 8, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The wake will officially commence on Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City.
Ramos, who was known as “FVR”, passed away at the age of 94 on Sunday, July 31, but his family only gave details about the wake and funeral arrangements on Tuesday.

He served as the 12th president of the Philippines from 1992 to 1998 and was largely credited for helping restore democracy during the crucial days of the People Power Revolt in 1986 and for leading the Philippine economy to progress during the Asian financial crisis.
“Our family is truly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of support and well wishes,” the post read.
“As we grieve, let us also celebrate a rich life – dedicated in service to this nation and its people,” it added.
