DBM forms Facebook page for budget education

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) launched its second official Facebook Page "Usapang Budget” that aims to connect with and relate budget concerns to ordinary Filipinos.

According to Budget Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, "Usapang Budget" aims to inform the people of the latest information on the government budget and spending in an engaging, less technical manner.

"In the spirit of good governance, we want to reach out to more people to let them know what government is doing with their money in a way that even the common folks will understand," Pangandaman said.

Usapang Budget will feature updates on the plans, programs, activities and projects of the Marcos administration in a manner that will be easily understood by the public.

The budget chief highlighted that the Page will also be the platform for DBM's latest initiative with the same name.

"The Page will live stream DBM's newest digital program of the same title, in line with President Bongbong Marcos' thrust to institute mechanisms for transparency and accountability," she underscored.

Further, Pangandaman noted that Usapang Budget will be more interactive.

“Dito po, aside from explaining kung paano mag-budget ang gobyerno at kung saan ginugugol ang pondo ng bayan, maaari din pong magtanong ang mga tao upang sila'y maliwanagan," the budget chief emphasized.

Pangandaman recommended for the public to Like, Follow, and Share the Usapang Budget Facebook Page.

"Hiling po namin na mas marami ang tumutok sa aming bagong inisyatibo--ang Usapang Budget Facebook Page--sapagkat dito, ang 'Budget ng Bayan, Mapag-uusapan'," she encouraged.
