Upland school in Antipolo City ready for F2F classes

An upland high school in Antipolo City is ready for Monday’s face-to-face classes following the conduct of several orientations on school policies as well as those from the Department of Education (DepEd), among parents and students .

With a student population of 637 as of Aug.19, the Kaysakat National High School, located in Barangay San Jose, will be implementing the "blended learning" approach with three days of in-classroom and two days of modular activities.

The school's officer-in-charge, Mrs. Rael Reyes, told Manila Bulletin that students and parents have attended the orientation as part of the school’s readiness for the start of the school year on Monday, Aug. 22.

Reyes said that as of Aug. 19, each class will have around 36 to 40 students with only one shift per day.

The school, however, is expecting that there will be more students who will enroll in the coming days.

Enrollment officers who will also act as help desk officers to ensure that health protocols are strictly being followed will welcome and assist the students starting Monday.

Several stakeholders, including the city government and private sector, have been supporting the needs of the upland high school that has nine buildings with 37 classrooms in total.

Reyes bared that the administrations of then Mayor Andrea Bautista Ynares and current City Mayor Casimiro "Junjun" Ynares III have been providing free school uniforms, bags, and notebooks to the students, apart from the regular scholarship assistance being given by the city and provincial governments.

Students and their parents have volunteered for the Brigada Eskwela activity.

Most of the students in the school belong to the no income or low income families.
