Pasay Mayor Emi helps fire victims

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano immediately assisted the 39 families whose houses were damaged by a fire that occurred in Barangay 113 on Thursday, Aug. 18.

Rubiano together with members of Pasay Rescue Team and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (SWDO) distributed food packs, hygiene kits, towels and blankets to fire victims who were brought to the covered gym on Dimasalang St. in Barangay 113.

She said around 75 individuals sought shelter at Barangay 113 gym after their houses were destroyed by fire that broke out around 1:30 a.m..

The blaze was placed under control after two hours.

The Pasay City Bureau of Fire and Protection said the fire was caused by an electrical fan in the house of a tricycle driver.

The BFP said no one was reported injured in the incident. The fire damage was placed at P125,000.
