12 injured in Taytay road mishap

Twelve people were injured after the public utility jeepney (PUJ) they were riding in crashed into a post and turned over on its side in Taytay, Rizal on Friday, Aug. 19.

According to a report from DZBB, the PUJ was traveling fast along Ortigas Ave. Extension when the driver lost control and hit a post in front of the office of an electronic goods maker.

The vehicle turned over on its side due to the impact.

The Taytay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said that some of the victims were brought to the Taytay Emergency Hospital, while others chose to ride other vehicles to go to their respective destinations.

Further investigation is still ongoing. The driver of the PUJ was also injured.

Rizal Provincial Governor Nina Ynares urged motorists to look for alternative routes as the accident caused heavy traffic along Ortigas Ave. Extension.
