Student, 2 drug pushers nabbed in Isabela drug sting


ROXAS, Isabela – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a college student and two suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation Wednesday, August 17, in Purok Saranay, Barangay Luna here.

Suspects were identified as Dan Paul Santiago, 24, mechanic, of Barangay Sotero Nuesa, Roxas; Peter Angelo Padilla, 22, a civil engineering student, of Barangay Rizal, Roxas; and Arfil Juco, 27, caretaker, of Barangay Vira, Roxas.

Seized from them were three medium and one small, sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu; five heat sealed and five open plastic sachets with suspected shabu residue; assorted drug paraphernalia; boodle money; an iPhone 13 Pro, and one black iTel keypad phone.

PDEA said the seized illegal drug weighed 12 grams and valued at P81,600.

Suspects and evidence were taken to the Roxas Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.

Police are probing the possible involvement of students in illegal drug activities and their source of the contraband.

Suspects are facing charges violationg Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
