BACOOR CITY, Cavite – A man who was initially collared for alarm and scandal in the streets of Barangay Ligas III is now facing attempted murder charges after pointing an improvised gun at the arresting police officers.

The Bacoor City Police Station said the 24-year-old suspect, Leo C. Zita, was accosted for alarm and scandal by the police who were patrolling the streets at around 10:30 p.m on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

"Nakita 'dun, nagwawala. Baka may kaaway... Parang siga-siga doon sa lugar nila (They saw him violently shouting. He was probably quarreling with someone... He is somewhat a bully in their area)," investigator-on-case S/Sgt. Bernies Rusiana told the Manila Bulletin.

Instead of calming down, however, the suspect drew his improvised shotgun or "sumpak" and pointed it at the authorities.

The police arrested Zita and confiscated the improvised shotgun with one piece of 12-gauge ammunition.

The suspect is now facing charges of alarm and scandal, attempted murder, and violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
