Mabalacat City ready for face-to-face classes

MABALACAT CITY – City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo on Thursday, Aug. 18, announced the city’s readiness for the full resumption of face-to-face classes on Aug. 22.

City government of Mabalacat initiated an orientation activity to all local government departments and units concerned and public-private educational institutions on Aug. 17.

For the safety of students and teachers, Garbo said that the city officials will be coordinating with the concerned department units and public and private school administrators to give updates on COVID-19 protocols.

Garbo said the city government, through its COVID-19 Response Integrated System (CRIS), will also try its best to get updates on dengue and monkeypox from concerned agencies.

"This is to ensure that we are really ready for face-to-face classes. I instructed our local officials to convene with the schools in the city to give updates and calibrate them with our guidelines and protocols,” said Garbo.

Garbo also assured of the availability of the city's COVID-19 testing centers for the continued vaccination program, especially now that thousands of students are going back to school for the first time since the declaration of pandemic in March 2020 scuttled practically all social activities in all countries of the world.

City administrator Franco Madlangbayan said the F2F preparedness is an important initiative to learn the concerns of all schools in the city and coordinate the programs of the city government.

"Mahalaga itong naging inisyatibo upang malaman ang mga concerns ng mga namamahala sa eskwelahan at malalaman rin nila ang mga programa ng lokal na pamahalaan para sa mga mag-aaral (This initiative is important for school officials to tell their concerns and at the same time know the city’s program for the students),” said Madlangbayan.
