At least 3 people struck by lightning in Trece Martires tricycle terminal

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – Lightning struck at least three individuals at a tricycle terminal on Thursday, Aug. 18.

Maverick Rodriguez of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) told the Manila Bulletin that they received a report about the incident past 4:00 p.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, however, Rodriguez says some bystanders claimed that there were four victims and not three.

One of the victims was declared dead on arrival at Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital while another victim has been revived at M. V. Santiago Medical Center.

CDRRMO is still tracing the whereabouts of the third and, possibly, the fourth victim.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Gemma Buendia Lubigan reminded her constituents to take extra precautions during thunderstorms.
