Two students, elderly man nabbed as PDEA, PNP dismantle drug den in Tuguegarao City

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Three drug personalities were arrested on Monday, Aug. 15, after selling one white folded paper containing dried leaves of marijuana to one of the operatives who posed as a buyer during a buy-bust operation in Bassig St., Ugac Sur in this city.

Operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cagayan Provincial Office and the local police here conducted the buy-bust which led to the arrest of Sam Escaño, 22, student; Franklin Escaño, 60, both of Bassig St., Ugac Sur, Tuguegarao City and Harvey Alcantara, 20, student and a resident of Caggay, Tuguegarao City.

Aside from the folded paper containing dried leaves of marijuana, the raiders also found a brown envelope containing one brick of dried leaves marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia, buy-bust money, and cellular phone.

Suspects will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
