GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, newly installed Police Regional Office-12 director, has vowed the sustained implementation of the internal cleansing program to weed out incompetent and scalawag police personnel.

Macaraeg has directed police unit commanders in the entire region to exercise their administrative authority to discipline erring subordinates.
In a press briefing shortly after his installation Monday, August 15, Macaraeg ordered police commanders, especially police chiefs in the provinces, cities, and municipalities, to exercise their authority in imposing sanctions against erring police personnel.
He said that the police regional command will strictly monitor the performance of police chiefs and commanders to ensure that they are discharging their duties to effectively supervise their subordinates.
“If they fail to sanction any erring personnel, they do not also deserve to get promoted,” Macaraeg said.
Police Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum, Macaraeg’s predecessor, has ordered the dismissal of eight erring policemen and suspension of eight others during his stint from November 2021 to August 2022 after they were found violating grave administrative offenses.
Macaraeg underscored the effective policing system by instilling humility, respect, and timeliness in the performance of duties by all personnel of the PRO-12.
