Man celebrating birthday killed in motorcycle crash in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A man celebrating his 28th birth anniversary was killed in a motorcycle crash in Barangay Mandalagan here Tuesday, August 16.

Police identified the victim as Jundie Doroteo of Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

Police Capt. Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 3, said Doroteo and his female companion had a drinking session to celebrate his natal day.

However, Doroteo lost control of his motorcycle while they were on their way home and crashed into the rear of a truck that stopped for a red traffic light.

Vargas said the fatality succumbed to head injuries while his friend suffered minor injuries.

An initial settlement between the victim’s family and the truck driver, who came from a catering service at that time, has been made, according to Vargas.
