RAMON, Isabela -- The Magat Dam here will release water at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, in anticipation of heavy rains from the "habagat" or southwest monsoon.
In a statement, the National Irrigation Administration-Magat River Integrated Irrigation System said the water level at the Magat Reservoir continues to rise due to the habagat.
One gate will be opened and 200 cubic meters of water per second will be released.
"However, the amount may increase depending on the intensity of rains at the Magat Watershed,” MARIIS said.
“Hindi naman masyado maramdaman ang pagpapakawala ng tubig (The release of water won't be felt)," it added.
