'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' season 2 coming in 2024

The popular Korean drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” aired on ENA and streamed on Netflix, is getting a second season, the production company behind it announced.

Lee Sang-baek, CEO of production company Astory, made the announcement on Aug. 17, a day before “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” is set to air its 16th and final episode on Aug. 18.

“Thanks to the support of many people, we will produce Season 2 of ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo,’” the CEO told Korean media outlet Edaily,

He said the goal is to air the second season in 2024.

“It is not easy to coordinate the schedules of the cast and crew, so it will have to go through a lot of discussion,” he added.

Lee Sang-baek said there will be no replacement of the cast as well as the director, writer, and production team during the production of season 2.

“As long as there is nothing unexpected to come up, the goal is to leave more than 90 percent of the members as they are. It will take a considerable amount of time to tune up because of this, but the plan itself to produce a season 2 remains the same,” he added.

“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” stars Park Eun-bin, Kang Tae-oh and Kang Ki-young. Park Eun-bin plays the role of Woo Young-woo, an attorney with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who works in a law firm.

“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” premiered with just 0.948 percent in nationwide rating in Korea but eventually gained attention among viewers. It garnered a nationwide rating of 14.646 percent for its 14th episode.

On Netflix, “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” is No. 1 on the platform’s non-English TV show chart and has joined “Squid Game” in the most popular non-English shows list.
