ZAMBOANGA CITY - P/BGen. Neil Alinsañgan took over the helm of the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) during turnover ceremonies on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the PRO-9 headquarters in Camp Abendan, Barangay Mercedes here.

The turnover of command ceremony was led by P/Lt. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo, Deputy Chief Philippine National Police for administration.
Arrival honors were given to Alinsañgan and the outgoing regional director P/BGen. Franco Simborio prior to the program.
In his speech, Alisañgan was sentimental as he referred to Zamboanga City as his first assignment after his graduation from the Philippine Military Academy.
“I am very humbled to stand before all of you today to serve this region,” said Alinsañgan.
“My assignments here were my formative years in loving my duty and discovering my calling for this nation,” he added.
The newly appointed regional director will lead the 8,230-strong PNP personnel as he takes over his new assignment in Zamboanga Peninsula.
Simborio was appointed PRO-9 director in November 2021.
