The House of Representatives has converted the special Committee on Flagship Programs And Projects into a standing committee.

Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos motioned to convert the particular special committee during the plenary session on Tuesday, Aug. 16. It was approved with no objections.
A special committee is a temporary function created for a specific purpose while a standing committee is permanent.
As of this posting, the Committee on Flagship Programs and Projects does not have a chairperson.
The newly-minted Flagship Programs and Projects panel’s jurisdiction is as follows:
“All matters directly and principally related to the monitoring, evaluation, and review of highly strategic infrastructure programs and projects identified and approved by the NEDA board committee on infrastructure and/or the investment coordination committee and included in the General Appropriations Act including the proposal of possible game changing and high-impact flagship programs and projects and the necessity of recommending requisite courses of action in relation thereto,” Marcos said as part of his motion.
Recently, the House created a new special committee--the Committee on Nuclear Energy.
