SSS encourages members to report scammers, fixers

The Social Security System (SSS) on Monday, Aug. 15, advised its members who have been victimized by scammers or fixers in their online transactions to report the incident to the SSS Special Investigation Department (SID).

Through the members' cooperation with SID, the Philippine National Police or National Bureau of Investigation Anti-Cybercrime Group would easily identify the fixers' or scammers' identities and file a case against them, SSS added.

In a statement released by SSS on Jan. 6, it reminded the members to not share their SSS number, My.SSS portal login credentials, and other personal information to suspicious individuals claiming to be SSS employees.

That information, SSS added, can be used in illegal activities.

Also, SSS reiterated that it is not affiliated with Facebook groups offering assistance on various online transactions in exchange for a fee as SSS does not charge its members for services except for Unified Multi-purpose ID Card replacement.
