Man shoots live-in partner dead in Batangas

CAMP GEN. VICENTE LIM, Calamba City, Laguna – A 30-year-old man allegedly shot his 33-year-old live-in partner dead during an argument Sunday, August 14, in Barangay Lalayat, San Jose, Batangas.

The San Jose Municipal Police Station identified the victim as Rona May Corañez.

Police said that Coranez and the suspect, Bin Nazzer Aguila, had a heated argument in their house at 4:20 a.m.

At the height of their argument, Aguila drew a gun and shot the victim in the head.

Aguila fled while Coranez was taken to the hospital by a relative. However, the victim was declared dead on arrival.

The victim’s relatives told police that the root of the couple’s spat was jealousy.

Police have launched a manhunt against the suspect.
