Angeles tests positive for Covid-19

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles announced that she is currently under isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.

In a Facebook video, Angeles said her RT-PCR test results came out on Monday morning, August 15.

"Kahapon nagpa Covid swab test ako, RT-PCR, at lumabas ang resulta kaninang umaga. Ako po ay positive for Covid (I underwent an RT-PCR test yesterday and my results came out this morning. I'm positive for Covid-19)," she said.

"Kung kaya’t sa bahay muna ako magtatrabaho habang ako ay naka isolation (That's why I will be working from home while in isolation)," she added.

Angeles furthered that she is asymptomatic. However, existing protocols dictate that she should undergo a week-long quarantine.

In a text message, Angeles said she had no recent contact with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., who tested positive for the virus on July 8.

"The President is fine," she said.

Meanwhile, the Palace official reminded the public to get vaccinated.

"Kukunin ko na rin po itong pagkakataon na maghikayat na magpabakuna tayong lahat at magpa-booster (I'd like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to get vaccinated and their booster shot)," Angeles said.
