DPWH completes 3 redeveloped roads in Capiz

ILOILO CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed three redeveloped roads in Capiz.

“The completed road projects link various towns, provide access to tourism destinations, shorten travel time, and ease traffic congestion,” said DPWH-Region 6 Director Nerie Bueno in a statement.

All redeveloped roads were undertaken by the DPWH-Capiz 1st District Engineering Office.

One of them is a P39.8-million tourism road in Pilar. It is an access road to the Hinulugan Falls, a popular tourist site. The 1.7-kilometer access road is a convergence project of the DPWH and the Department of Tourism (DOT).

The two other roads are in Maayon.

The first is the P48.9-million widening of a 1.3-kilometer road. It enhances mobility for travelers in Maayon as well as the neighboring towns of Pontevedra and Panit-an.

The second is the P37.5-million bypass road that serves as an alternate route to Cuartero. The project includes concreting of a 1.22-kilometer road and drainage system.
