There is no place for corruption in government amid the suffering of out farmers)," said AGRI Party-list Rep. Wilbert Lee in a statement.

Lee was referring to the controversial attempt to import 300,000 metric tons of sugar into the Philippines, which was later found illegal by Malacañang.

I pity again our sugar planters and farm workers who have been suffering from the pandemic and the successive calamities)," he said.

But it's good news that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Agriculture Secretary; and the Sugar Regulatory Administration chairman discovered that the importation had no authorization. Whoever was behind this in the SRA, is a person with a thick face, is bold, and has a wicked soul)," Lee said.

The House member underscored that someone must be held accountable on the illegal resolution on the sugar importation.

Ito ang panawagan ng AGRI Party-list (Everyone involved with this illegal resolution must be held accountable. No one must be spared. Our farmers should be supported, not abused. This is the appeal of AGRI Party-list)," he said.
